Participation of UMOS representatives in 15th Ukrainian Conference on Space Research
On 24-28 of August, 2015, The 15th Ukrainian Conference on Space Research was held in Odesa. As part of the conference, round table named: "Prospects of System for Space Situational Awareness (SSA)" was held.
The meeting was attended by experts from: Western Center of Radio Observations (WCRO), Centre of Space Situational Awareness, Main Center of Special Control, Main Astronomical Observatory, Research Institute - Astronomical Observatory of Odessa National University, Research Institute - Nikolaev Astronomical Observatory, Astronomical Observatory of Lviv National University.
At the round table, the experts heard the report titled: "Prospects of System for SSA" by Head of the National Center, Vladimir I. Prysyazhny, as well as the report titled: "Current Status and Prospects of UMOS" presented by director of the Research Institute - Nikolaev Astronomical Observatory, the coordinator of UMOS, Olexander V. Shulga.
The experts discussed the reports and came to the conclusions about an important role and necessity for further development of the SSA system. It was noticed that: optical station in Yevpatoriya is located on the temporary occupied territory of Ukraine, organizational structure of space control center needs to be restored at the WCRO in Mukachevo. The SSA system should increase number of observations and improve the accuracy of data by increasing number of optical telescopes located at other observatories in Ukraine.

June 10, 2015 Sails in Space
The Planetary Society’s LightSail test mission successfully completed its primary objective of deploying a solar sail in low-Earth orbit.
After deploying the solar sail, LightSail-A was observed in Odesa.
May 5, 2015 Scientific and technical meeting
On April 28-29, 2015, scientific and technical meeting titled "Expanding the functions of System for Space Situational Awareness (SSA) in Ukraine" was held in Mukachevo at the Western Center of Radio Observations (WCRO).
The meeting was attended by experts of: WCRO, Uzhgorod National University, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, Research Institute - Astronomical Observatory of Odesa National University, Research Institute - Nikolaev Astronomical Observatory, Astronomical Observatory of Lviv National University.
The experts have concluded that the system for SSA is one of the most important elements for the security and defense of Ukraine as well as a source of strategic information on the activities of the international community in space. The experts also agreed that the system for SSA requires further rapid development.
The experts have agreed on the issues of further development and functional expansion of the system for SSA, involving Ukraine network of optical observations.
